We stopped at the New Original Burrito and Company.…
48th Street and Eliot in Ahwatukee. The place looks amazing. They took over the Kentucky Fried Chicken location in the center of the parking lot where they used to reside.
The first clue that a restaurant is delicious and well priced ( which is no surprise to us) is that the police gather there. This is what we saw when we arrived for a late breakfast.
Tommy and his crew handpainted the outside of the restaurant here is a good example
That is a real carousel horse, but not for riding.
Let’s get to the point….the food.
The menu is huge, Don and I had some big decision to make.
Candy back at the Studio wanted a Chicken Chimichanga with green chili sauce on top. It soundedso good that I order the same. I am not a Chimichanga gal, because it is fried. Not to say I don’t like it but I do try and stay away. Let me tell you… IT IS WORTH IT. The crispy crunch of the shell, the soft delicious texture of the chicken with the wonderful spices and green chili sauce. Margaret, Monica’s Mom made us the most delicious chimichangas. We were in heaven. Don had the burrito with eggs, potato and chorizo and really enjoyed that. The chips are homemade, thick and crispy and the salsa amazing as always. The have a great salsa bar.
We took the food back to the studio. I dug in so fast I forgot to take a photo. The portions are huge and I love their chicken. I managed to eat the whole thing as I nibbled on it through the whole show. We sounded particularly happy that day on the air. Honestly someone called and commented how up beat we were. You will love it to. Head on over and check it out and tell the gang that Kim and Don sent you. I wish I had one right now!
