Ma’s Baked Macaroni & Cheese by Marilyn Michaels,
a generous listener willing to share her family recipe.
This recipe sounds very rich and decadent.
Ingredients:
- 1pound thick spaghetti
- 1 can Carnation evaporated Milk
- 3/4 stick butter
- 3/4 cup grated extra sharpe white cheddar
- 3/4 cup grated x-sharpe yellow cheddar
- 1 cup grated mozarella cheese
- 4 slices American cheese for top
- salt & pepper to taste
- dried parsley
- Combine Grated parmessan cheese, romano cheese and provolone cheese grated (totalling 1/2 cup)
Directions:
- Partially cook spaghetti
- drain & set aside
- Grate cheeses and mix together
- In a buttered 9 X 13 pan, put a layer of spaghetti (use half)
- then half sharp cheeses, mozarella, salt, pepper, parsley and dots of butter
- Repeat layers
- Pour heated canned milk over top
- Last put 4 slices of American cheese
- Cook 325 degrees 45-60 minutes until top is brown
- Let cool 10 mins. for easier cutting.
