Ma’s Baked Macaroni & Cheese  by  Marilyn Michaels,

a generous listener willing to share her family recipe.
This recipe sounds very rich and decadent.

Ingredients:

  • 1pound thick spaghetti
  • 1 can Carnation evaporated Milk
  • 3/4 stick butter
  • 3/4 cup grated extra sharpe white cheddar
  • 3/4 cup grated x-sharpe yellow cheddar
  • 1 cup  grated mozarella cheese
  • 4 slices American cheese for top
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • dried parsley
  • Combine Grated parmessan cheese, romano cheese and provolone cheese grated (totalling 1/2 cup)

Directions:

  • Partially cook spaghetti
  • drain & set aside
  • Grate cheeses and mix together
  • In a buttered 9 X 13 pan, put a layer of spaghetti (use half)
  • then half sharp cheeses, mozarella, salt, pepper, parsley and dots of  butter
  • Repeat layers
  • Pour heated canned milk over top
  • Last put 4 slices of American cheese
  • Cook 325 degrees 45-60 minutes until top is brown
  • Let cool 10 mins. for easier cutting.
