Chocolate Toffee Matzoh
This is a great recipe for Passover. It makes a terrific gift idea. Feel free to add chopped dried fruit, nuts anything goes.
Ingredients
- 4-6 sheets of matzoh
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans, pistachios, almonds and/or dried fruit (choose what you like or make a mixture)
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Line cookie sheet with foil.
- Top foil with waxed paper.
- Lay matzohs on baking sheets, breaking in half to fill gaps, until sheet is completely covered.
- In medium saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Let mixture come to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
- Remove butter mixture from heat and pour over matzoh.
- Bake 15 minutes being careful not to let it burn.
- Remove from oven and quickly sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Let the chips melt for a few minutes, then use back of spoon to spread into an even layer.
- Sprinkle nuts over top of chocolate and press down lightly.
- Refrigerate until set.
- Break into small pieces to serve.

Kim,
I listen to your radio show everyday and many times try to write down recipes as you talk about them. Is this the same recipe that you talked about this past week about the 23rd of June but you used saltine crackers?
Thank you. Love your show
Sue
Hi Sue,
I am sorry I haven’t written back. Are you talking about the matzoh toffee? The recipe is exactly the same for the saltine toffee that a listener brought to us. It was delicious. I haven’t put that recipe up, but it is the same just substitute saltines.
I will try to get the recipes up on the site faster, as soon as I get the rest of the site up and running. There is a huge learning curve. ( and they said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks) Maybe they were right!!!!! I just found all of these e-mails.
Thanks so much for getting in touch. Knowing that nice people like you are checking it out, makes it worth my effort.
Have a delicious 4th,
Kim
