Hi Kim and Don,
Just was so saddened and shocked when we heard Ron passed away. We(Scott and I) didn’t know he and Sandy all that well, but listening to them on a regular basis on your show, we appreciated their input in the show. We met them at some remotes we went to, and then ran into them even after a remote one time.(had to laugh but they were still there on Val Vista and Elliot after your show and listening to Carvin Jones) His voice will be missed and I hope he’s found a very special place in heaven and hope Sandy can surmise the strength to get through this difficult time…Thank you both for bringing them into a network of friends where they felt they finally belonged. What a beautiful thing!
As always, appreciate all you do and your show….We’ll be listening…..

not lucky to have fig trees. Harv and I love fresh figs. We buy them at costco when they have them. This receipe sounds soo good must try it. We just eat the figs like we eat any other fruit.

Mickey D’s has great food and friendly staff.
When the Muleskinners stop in, the place comes alive and put’s you back into the Old West. They have fun with the patrons and with the patrons taking pictures all the time with them, I never can tell if they get a chance to sit down and eat. Food and Fun !!!

Unfortunately, I have to use packaged figs for this tart….any hints to using these instead of fresh off the tree figs? Do they need to be treated diferently? Do I need to soak them first. I have never used figs in a recipe before, so they are quite foreign to me. Thanks for any wisdom you can provide.
I know if they are dried figs, you need to reconstitute them. You can do it in warm water or better yet apple juice, calvados or get creative. Then slice them. Make sure they are not too wet when you put them on the pastry. I think that should be good. If they are only slightly dried, just reconstitute a short time. Let me know how it works.
