Mel’s Diner Remote

Monday, April 18th, 2011

Mel’s Diner, 1747 NW. Grand Ave Phoenix, AZ – (602) 252-8283, was like “time travel”, back to the days of the TV show Alice, however, the surreal part was that the service and food were terrific, so unlike the show.  Here are some fun photos of the remote.  Paraskevi Stamatouli, and  her husband, Emmanouil Stivaktakis, , owners of Mel’s  with  Rebecca and the other gave  great service and delicious food.  They really had things humming. Check out all the photos.

Owner Emmanouil Stivaktakis,

Black Forest Haus Remote

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

We had a great time at the Black Forest Haus, 4900 E. Indian School(602) 957-0152.   The room we broadcast in was huge, we could have had a polka contest in the center of the dining room, but everyone was busy enjoying the wonderful food that Klaus prepared for us.  Many listeners had to sit  in another room at the Black Forest Haus, we had a terrific crowd.  Thanks for coming, you are the BEST!    Here are some photos of our remote.

Popo’s Fiesta Del Sol Mexican

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Tammy from Glendale loves Popo’s Fiesta Del Sol Mexican Restaurant 6542 West Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ (623) 846-2636  and 17037 N. 59th Ave  Glendale, AZ 85308 (602) 354-7738.  She loves everything, but has been trying to eat healthy so she ordered the Chicken veggie plate with Roasted or sauteed Veggie Plate with chicken $10.99. She doesn’t know what they do with the veggies, but she absolutely loves it, so low carb or not she eats it and swoons every time. Been around for years.

Cowboy Up!   We had a delicious meal on Saturday night at the Waddell’s Longhorn Corral at 1629 N. 195th Ave. Buckeye – 623-853-0395.  I have never seen steaks that big.  I had the 24 oz. Prime rib for $29.99 , Don had the 24 oz Ribeye  for $28.99 and our friends shared a special a two pound steak divided on two plates with 4 scallops, 4 shrimp, salad and 2 sides for $41.00.  Everyone went home with a doggy bag.  The steaks were tender and delicious.  Marcie was our server and couldn’t do enough for us, she was fantastic.  Chef Don came out to meet us and showed us the pork chop he makes, YUM!  He really loves his job.  You can see the passion.   They only serve steaks and pork chops on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, the rest of the week they serve great burgers like their 1 lb. juicy Lucy stuffed with cheese, the olive burger and of course plain burgers.  They haave Sandwiches, fish fry and broasted chicken.  It is a real Southwestern Saloon with a live band on Friday and Saturday nights.  Line dancing lessons on Thursday night, kiaraoke Tues and Thursdays and horseshoes all the time.  Eric the owner is terrific and makes sure that everyone is happy.  What a great find. Here are some photos.

They do have a great sense of humor
