Habaneros Mexican Grill- a great find!

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Don & I had lunch today at Habaneros Mexican Grill 14870 North Northsight Blvd, Suite 106Scottsdale, AZ (480) 991-2997 they are new sponsors of the show.  We are so proud to tell you about the delicious food. The first hurdle you have to make is what to order, they have a great menu.  I tried the calamari taco….WHAT!!!   you heard me, a calamari taco and it was cooked perfectly, crunchy , but not over done – no rubbery calamari here.  The flavors were terrific with pico de gallo , chipotle sauce & cabbage. Don had the Carne Asada Burrito (click to keep reading) Read More→

Mariscos Playa Hermosa – Tuesday Tasting Tour

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

We had so much fan at Marisco’s Playa Hermosa 1605 East Garfield Street Phoenix, AZ 85006-3651 (602) 462-1563.  Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food.  It seems that people that ordered the beef were not as pleased as the people that ordered the fish. The winner dish I think was the whole tilapia that John and MaryAnn from Tempe ordered.  I had the fish tacos that were very good.  .  They were made with fish and cheese and crispy because they were finished on a Plancha.  The service was great. Here are some photos of the fun. Read More→

Popo’s Fiesta Del Sol Mexican

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Tammy from Glendale loves Popo’s Fiesta Del Sol Mexican Restaurant 6542 West Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ (623) 846-2636  and 17037 N. 59th Ave  Glendale, AZ 85308 (602) 354-7738.  She loves everything, but has been trying to eat healthy so she ordered the Chicken veggie plate with Roasted or sauteed Veggie Plate with chicken $10.99. She doesn’t know what they do with the veggies, but she absolutely loves it, so low carb or not she eats it and swoons every time. Been around for years.

Restaurant Review

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Jenny in Phoenix went to the  The Original Burrito & Co 4865 East Elliot Road Phoenix, AZ 85044-1715  (480) 893-3857.  They had the  Mexican green chili burrito.  It was so good.  Her grandson had  the beef taco and loved it so much he ordered another.  Jenny was impressed with the green and red sauce that they serve over the enchiladas. It had chunks of meat, the sauce was enough for a meal.  It was just like they serve it in New Mexico .  They loved it.  The price was great for 4 people it was $27.00.  A great deal!

Chimichanga Dreaming on A Summer Day

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

We stopped at the New Original Burrito and Company.
48th Street and Eliot in Ahwatukee. The place looks amazing.  They took over the Kentucky Fried Chicken location in the center of the parking lot where they used to reside. The first clue that a restaurant is delicious and well priced ( which is no surprise to us) is that the police gather there.  This is what we saw when we arrived for a late breakfast.

Tommy and his crew handpainted the outside of the restaurant here is a good example That is a real carousel horse, but not for riding.

Let’s get to the point….the food.  The menu is huge, Don and I had some big decision to make.  Candy back at the Studio wanted a Chicken Chimichanga with green chili sauce on top.  It sounded Read More→
