Lime Light Dipping Bar & Grill

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

Don and I had the pleasure of touring the menu at the hip, new and delectable Lime Light Dipping Bar & Grill. 4218 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85251 – 480)949-8900. Chef Lefty is the Host with the most.  The food was amazing, Don and I were not surprised with the flavors of the dipping sauces and the care taken in all of the recipes to offer creative dishes that everyone will love. You can customize each dish with a choice of 15 sauces. If you are not comfortable with that Chef Lefty offers his suggestions.  If you like heat, try Chef Lefty’s Ghost Pepper or for a cooler flavor wasabi yogurt  or go a different way with sweet & sour, pineapple coconut or Bacon aioli just to name a few.  PROBLEM: The menu is almost difficult to negotiate because there are so many great choices. SOLUTIONS:  Go often and work your way through the tempting menu, you can afford it, the most expensive thing is the pizza’s at $16.00.  Check this out: Read More→

The Grill on Main in Mesa

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

We had a great lunch and are so proud to have as a new sponsor, The Grill on Main  124 West Main Street  Mesa, AZ (480) 464-3555. Art Froelich, Chef/Owner has gone from Engineer to Chef, even studied locally at Le Cordon Bleu with Chef Jon Paul Hutchins, so you know he knows his food.   We started off with a New England Clam Chowder that was perfect.

The soup of the Day, clam chowder with more clams than potatoes. It was delcious and I love the bowl with the cracker well. So cool and delicious.

Side Door Restaurant & Bar Tuesday Tasting

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

The food & Service were amazing at the Side Door Restaurant & Bar  3370 N Hayden Rd # 126 Scottsdale, AZ 85251-6632 (480) 947-4484.  Their theme is SIMPLY UNCOMPLICATED and that’s what it was, a fun evening, where we could all relax and enjoy each other.  The listeners really enjoyed Jenna & Jessie’s service and the great prices on the food.

The atmosphere is comfortable, it makes you want to hang out and visit.

Chef/Owner Brian with a delicious Halibut and Veal Chop dish.

It is always fun when we get together for remotes and De la Cruz Bistro 10 West Main Street Mesa, AZ 85201 (480) 258-6942. This was our first remote at this restaurant and everyone was thrilled with Chef Brian’s menu.  People raved about the steak sandwich, sweet potato fries many had fish for lent and were pleased.  The salads were also a hit.   We all had a great time.  Don and I tried an amazing Bacon Bloody Mary and some terrific wines.   Then Chef Brian brought us the most delicious veal chop I have ever had and I am not a veal fan. COMMENTS: I wanted to give a restaurant review while it was still fresh in my mind.  I just had breakfast in a new place named “Perk eatery” 6501 East Greenway Pkwy. #159
Scottsdale, AZ  (480) 998-6026
at the east end of the shopping center at 64th street and Greenway.Parkway.  It was the best I’ve had in a while for breakfast.  I had  a mediterranean omlet with a light dill sauce and rosemary roasted potatoes.  It was light, fresh and so very good.  My son was with me and he had the breakfast burito that he also loved.  The service was quick, friendly and all and all one of the best breakfast places I’ve found.
Thanks Kathryn

It was a blast at Dutchman’s HideOut at The Mining Camp Restaurant in Apache Junction .  This is our third remote here and each time people can’t get over how delicious the food is.  The service was terrific.  The food is amazing at a great price.   I love the Gold Strike Burger.   Here are some great photos of the remote.   We enjoyed having Lauren from the Beef Council join us.

Mel’s Diner Remote

Monday, April 18th, 2011

Mel’s Diner, 1747 NW. Grand Ave Phoenix, AZ – (602) 252-8283, was like “time travel”, back to the days of the TV show Alice, however, the surreal part was that the service and food were terrific, so unlike the show.  Here are some fun photos of the remote.  Paraskevi Stamatouli, and  her husband, Emmanouil Stivaktakis, , owners of Mel’s  with  Rebecca and the other gave  great service and delicious food.  They really had things humming. Check out all the photos.

Owner Emmanouil Stivaktakis,
